Sunderbans is a part of the world`s largest delta of mangrove forest formed by the rivers Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna and recognized as one of the most unique eco-systems of the world. The place derives its name from the Sundari Mangrove trees growing in this region. An UNESCO World Heritage Site Sundarban’s Mangrove forest covers an area of 4264 sq. km with 55 tiny islands.
Cruise through the creeks and canals of the National Park. This is one park where you have to move around in boats. The country boat rides through the narrow creeks are sure to put a chill through your spine. Visit to the village on the island on which your resort is located will bring to you the lives of the people living inside the National Park and etching out their living under most unfriendly circumstances. You may be able to experience with the locals on one of their fishing trip, honey collection or crab hunting trips. Know the myth surrounding this mangrove forest while watching the Bon - Bibi Pala (drama) or Duhke yatra performed by the locals before going out into the forest.
The tours can vary in duration from 01 night to 04 nights to explore this unique eco-system. The points of interest can be combined depending on which island the guests are staying on.
Visit to the Sajnekhali Watchtower and Nature Interpretation system can be done on the first day as the guests have to get their permits on this island. Next cruise through Vidyadhari, Durgaduani and Gumdi rivers to the Sudhanyakhali watch tower.
With a full day in hand cruise to Naubanki, Deulbharani – Panchamukhani and numerous creeks and visit Dobanki to experience the Canopy Walk in the Tower and cruise back through Banbibi bharani Sorakkhali Choragazikhali creeks.
Take a full day to cruise toward Indo Bangladesh border Buriridabri watch tower through Katuajhuri forest on the Jhilla river. Lunch on board the cruise. There will extensive jungle safari through river and will be over 8 to 9 hours.
With more time in hand guests can cruise to Netidhopani - the tiger watchtower and the ruins of a 400 year old temple found here are the main attractions of the place.
